Cancellation, returns, and refunds
This policy explains when you can cancel, what happens when a personalised book enters production, and what Recipy will do if a book or digital service is faulty. It adds to your mandatory consumer rights and never reduces them.
The seller is AB & GL Nexus Global Partners Limited, Irish company 764964. Recipy is a trading name used by that company.
1. The simple version
- Initial future-book purchase: you receive a full refund if you cancel within 14 days of purchase.
- While you build the book: we ask you to approve it within 6 months, followed by reminders and a 30-day grace period. After that, we may archive an inactive project, but your included-copy entitlement does not expire.
- Final personalised order or exact reprint: ask quickly. We will cancel if production can still be stopped. Once personalised production begins, change-of-mind cancellation is normally unavailable.
- Fault, damage, wrong item, or non-delivery: contact us. Your legal remedies remain regardless of a voluntary reporting window.
- A mistake visible in the proof you approved: this is normally not a manufacturing defect if the book matches that proof, but we will still investigate any Recipy or printer error.
2. Why the two payments are treated separately
The initial EUR 39 or EUR 49 purchase buys a future book entitlement and access to the workspace used to complete it. Months later, the final settlement covers address-specific delivery and any optional upgrades or additional copies. The final settlement also starts production of the exact personalised edition you approved.
Because the initial mixed product and the final made-to-order book can have different legal cancellation rules, this policy gives a simple contractual launch promise without claiming that it replaces any broader statutory right.
3. Cancelling the initial future-book purchase
You may cancel the initial future-book purchase for any reason within 14 days after the purchase date and receive a full refund to the original payment method. Recipy will not make a deduction for AI processing or workspace use during this contractual 14-day period.
After those 14 days, there is no automatic refund merely because you change your mind, although Recipy may still offer a goodwill solution. Mandatory rights for a faulty or unprovided product or service always remain.
To cancel, send a clear statement to support@recipy.to before the 14 days end. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to.
We will acknowledge the request and make the refund without undue delay, normally to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider controls how quickly the credit appears after we submit it.
If a refund ends the book entitlement, you will be told what happens to Recipys created above any remaining free or paid limit. We will not silently delete family content as a consequence of requesting a refund. You will have a reasonable opportunity to download an archive before content is removed or editing limits are applied.
4. Starting the service during a cancellation period
Recipy can begin transcription, AI structuring, storage, and book-workspace services immediately after purchase. Where the law requires an express request to start during a withdrawal period, checkout must ask for that request separately and explain its effect. We keep a durable record of the choice.
Starting these features does not reduce the full 14-day refund described above. This contractual promise is more generous than any proportionate charge Recipy might otherwise be allowed to request. It does not reduce any broader statutory right.
5. Expansions
The same 14-day full-refund promise applies to a book expansion. If the expansion is refunded, the book returns to its prior Recipy limit. Recipy will not silently delete Recipys that exceed that limit. We may pause further editing and give you a reasonable export or adjustment path.
The expansion checkout must state the new Recipy limit, price, and any effect on completion timing before payment.
6. Completion period and inactivity
We ask you to complete and approve the book within 6 months after the initial purchase. Recipy will send reasonable reminders and give a final 30-day grace period. If the book remains unfinished, we may archive the project to keep inactive storage and support manageable.
Archiving is not forfeiture. Your included-copy entitlement does not expire, and archiving does not trigger an automatic refund. You may ask us to reactivate the project. We will provide reasonable help where illness, accessibility needs, service failure, or another reasonable circumstance prevented completion. Mandatory cancellation, conformity, shutdown, and refund rights always remain.
If a long delay makes the original format or supplier unavailable, Recipy will offer a reasonably equivalent way to fulfill the order or the cancellation, price adjustment, or refund remedy required by law. Any new agreement will be clear and voluntary.
7. Cancelling a final personalised order or exact reprint
The final order is based on the exact proof you approve and is made to your specification. Once that order enters production, the statutory change-of-mind cancellation exception for personalised goods is expected to apply.
If you contact us before production begins, we will try to stop the order and refund the amount that can still be recovered. Lulu can move an order into production quickly, so cancellation is not guaranteed after payment. Recipy will not say production has begun unless its records support that position.
This personalised-goods rule does not remove rights for a faulty, damaged, wrong, late, or undelivered book.
8. Proof approval and content mistakes
Before final payment, you receive the exact proof associated with the order. Please check all pages, names, photos, cropping, quantities, ingredients, steps, safety information, and the delivery address.
If the printed book matches that approved proof, the following are normally customer-approved content choices rather than manufacturing defects:
- a spelling or factual mistake visible in the proof;
- a Recipy quantity, ingredient, allergen, timing, or temperature supplied or approved by you;
- an image, crop, caption, title, dedication, or page order visible in the proof; or
- a later preference for different content, layout, format, or quantity.
Recipy may offer a paid or goodwill reprint in those cases. We remain responsible where the print differs from the approved artifact, Recipy introduced an error after approval, the preview materially failed to show a production issue it should have shown, or another legal conformity requirement is not met.
9. Faulty, damaged, wrong, or missing books
Contact support@recipy.to as soon as reasonably possible if:
- the book is damaged in transit;
- binding, trimming, ink, colour, paper, cover, or pages have a manufacturing fault;
- pages are missing, duplicated, out of sequence, or differ from the approved proof;
- you receive the wrong edition or quantity;
- tracking says delivered but you did not receive it; or
- the order does not arrive within the agreed period.
Photos of the parcel, shipping label, damage, and affected pages help us resolve the problem with Lulu or the carrier. Asking for evidence does not remove a right where evidence is unavailable for a reasonable cause.
Depending on the facts and the remedy required by consumer law, Recipy will repair where meaningful, replace, complete delivery, reduce the price, or refund. A replacement must not impose a cost on you for a defect Recipy is responsible for.
We invite reports within 30 days because evidence is easier to obtain, but 30 days is not a limit on mandatory consumer rights.
10. Digital service or content problems
If Recipy cannot provide the purchased workspace, loses paid content, applies the wrong Recipy limit, or otherwise fails to supply a conforming digital service, contact us. We will first try to restore or correct the service within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience. Price reduction or termination and refund rights may apply when the law requires them.
An AI result needing ordinary customer review is not automatically a fault. A complete processing failure, loss of preserved source material Recipy agreed to store, or repeated inability to provide a paid core feature may be.
11. Delivery and address problems
Recipy remains responsible for the parcel until you or a person you nominate receives it, subject to mandatory law. See the Delivery and Fulfillment Policy.
If a failed delivery or reprint was caused solely by an incorrect address you entered and confirmed, we may ask you to pay the evidenced, unavoidable cost of a new delivery or replacement production. We will first check whether Recipy, Lulu, or the carrier caused or contributed to the problem. We will not charge an arbitrary penalty.
12. Lulu rejection or fulfillment failure
Lulu's inability or refusal to print does not transfer the problem to you. Recipy will:
- investigate and correct a technical production issue without changing approved content;
- ask for renewed approval if a necessary correction changes the proof;
- use an appropriate equivalent fulfillment route if agreed; or
- refund the unfulfilled order when it cannot be completed.
If content violates the Content and Safety Policy, Recipy may refuse to print it. Any refund deduction or refusal must be lawful, proportionate, and based on the facts. Mandatory rights remain.
13. Service shutdown
If Recipy closes while an included copy or paid order remains unfulfilled, an archive download alone is not the full remedy. Recipy will provide reasonable notice and will fulfill the order, arrange a lawful equivalent, transfer the obligation with proper notice where permitted, or refund the unprovided part as required by law.
14. How to request cancellation or a remedy
Email support@recipy.to or use the contact form at /legal. Include:
- the account or order email;
- the order number, if available;
- whether you want to cancel or report a problem;
- a short explanation;
- the delivery date and photos, if relevant; and
- the remedy you prefer.
Do not send a full card number or security code.
We will acknowledge your message and tell you what information or next step is needed. Using this support process is not a condition for exercising a right in another legally valid way.
15. Model cancellation form
